(CNN) — Entertainer Jennifer Lopez and Latin singer Marc Anthony have “decided to end our marriage,” the couple said Friday in a statement.”This was a very difficult decision,” said the statement, which was released through Lopez’s representative Mark Young.
“We have come to amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
The couple wed in 2004, in what was the third marriage for Lopez and the second for Anthony, who’d been married to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres.
