ok, i admit… i added this song to the mix mostly because sunshine LOVES andre. the track also has the added virtue of being quite catchy, as well.

kidz in the hall – lucifer’s joyride
if one were so inclined to actually BUY music, you’d have to consider picking up “the in crowd.” this song isn’t even the best track – just the one that best fits my mood this month.

the native tongues & N.E.R.D. – she wants to move (remix)
hip-hop needs a great record from a super-group. based on the hotness of this song, i challenge common, mos def, de la soul, and q-tip to make it happen.

camp lo – scarves
camp lo’s delivery of lyrics matches the futuristic steel drum music that accompanies them. i like the style of this song a lot.

marlena shaw – california soul (diplo/mad decent remix)
one of those songs that should get play while pushing your whip down the PCH. as my boy MKS would say at that moment: “CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME!”

N.E.R.D. – my drive thru ft. santogold & julian casablancas
pharrell and santogold, dammit. oh yeah, the guy from the strokes, too.

j-live – the upgrade ft. oddisee & posdanus
i guess pos and de la soul are making a comeback this year? about time… and i’m not mad at j-live for putting out a new record as well.

saigon – believe it
the whole vocoder thing is about over (sorry t-pain enthusiasts), but just blaze made it work on this track. whether or not saigon is the “new public enemy” is a whole other story…

o.c. – dangerous ft. big l
an oldie but goodie… and DITC is always right on time (r.i.p. big l).

vast aire – the man without fear
by now you should know that i’m a vast aire nerd. but as much as i loved the rhymes, the best part of this track was the trip-hop style production. peace to melodious monk.
