no surprises.

this isn’t going to end well.

perhaps the enthusiastic crowds (like the one pictured above in portland, oregon) have left some drunk with optimism. i implore you all return to reality. because i feel that many americans need it, here is another reminder why a black man will be not be elected president of the united states.

as ice cube once said (before he fell off)… here’s what they think about you:

don’t act like you’re shocked. the fact that this sort of sentiment still exists is no surprise. conversely, the fact that many of us are naïve enough to think things will be different is surprising.

stop that.

Ice Cube never fell off. Cut that shit out.

You know who’s really hoping Obama doesn’t win? Harold Ford, Jr. He’s in the south someplace telling people “I’m less black than he is…trust me.”

I watched a bunch of Obama speeches this weekend (not by choice) and what strikes me is that he rarely seems to speak from his heart. Not to say that he doesn’t believe what he’s saying, but it’s never off the cuff. He’s so scripted that it comes off as disingenuous, to me. He also, has this sing songy speech patterns that makes me think he’s a lot closer to Jeremiah Wright than he’d like us to believe. All that said, someone please do something about the white woman. This shit has gone on too long.

for the record, i wouldn’t vote for him. and no it’s not cause he’s black. it’s because i do not like/do not agree with him on quite a few levels. so can people stop saying that it’s because he’s black? that’s not always the case. voted for him in Chicago for the Senate. Where I wish he’d stay for at least another 6+ years.
