when it comes to music, i’m not ashamed to say that i enjoy jumping on bandwagons. that is… as long as the material is hot, and worthy of my appreciation.

that being said, it’s time for everyone who visits this site to get on board with santogold. her new record will be tearing up parties and hipster lounges/bars in your city this summer. try to get ahead of that curve, and start reveling in the hotness right now. to give you an idea of what shes about, i’ve seen her best described as a reggae-dub combination between M.I.A. and the yeah yeah yeah’s.

i prefer to think of her sound as that music in the air that keeps you swaying at some steamy late july house party ( you know the type – where the cold drink in your hand can barely keep up with the sweat rolling down your neck). even before i knew she opened for bjork and had worked with mark ronson & lily allen, i was becoming a fan. by legal or illegal means, cop her self-titled record. enjoy some youtube examples of her work.
