cleanse the palette.*

what would jesus listen to?

i’m busy making new mixes for my ipod, and i keep coming across songs that i wish were on my site. it’s kind of sad that the only music i usually give play to on this site is hip-hop and reggae. i really do listen to quite a few different styles of music, and i think i’m going to give them a bit more run on this page. as a child of mecca (in the hip-hop music sense), my first love isn’t going anywhere. its just that sometimes one needs to cleanse the palette.*

thats a lot of weak sauce metaphor right there, you might want to sit down.

i’ve also decided to take it a bit easier on the youtube video posts. i love posting them, but ten videos each time is a bit much. i digress. avoid doing your work for a few minutes longer and watch some videos.

*if you’re desperate for hip-hop, check out the just-now-released video for kanye’s “the good life.”

FYI. I dont know if you go out to reggae clubs but Ive found about 3 different spots. Now I forewarn you, these places are not for the faint of heart when it comes to reggae. The people who go are die hard reggae fans who signal de plane, pon de river and dutty wind just to warm up. Also, the crowd, eeeh, remember you are their for the music. LOL Last night was probably the only time you’ll find 3 puerto rican chics in one club. But overall, these clubs pop off. Only places I’ve had more fun these places were back in Manhatten * NY not freakin Manhatten Beach*, and these whole in the wall spots in Queens by St Johns.

PSSSSH. Please excuse all misspellings and incorrect word usage (ie their was suppose to be “there’). Going out on a thursday night is rough when you have work in the morning the next day. 3 and half hours of sleep and a hangover make for a cloudy mind.

i like how u said that you were gonna cut down on youtube vids and then go on to post 5. i need music. feed me.

saucy zeta – well, 5 is less than the ten i usually post.
these shenanigans are actually about saving videos to present in the future. for example, i made the mistake of reeling off clips of my favorite comedians way too fast. i could have spread those fuckers out to maybe 4 or 5 good posts, where i maybe got to talk about specific people in more detail. tryina step my game up over here.

sra. valentin – when i was still nu-yawkuh, i used to take the QBX5 bus from co-op to this great reggae spot near lefrak city. it’s killing me right now that i dont know the name, but senior year in high school that shit was the jumpoff. plus… as you mentioned on a different post i’m MAAAD old, so i was kicking it there in the era of mad cobra’s “flex.” many girls in poom-poom skirts got freaked. good times.

hahah lefrak city….many memories there as well….and i been on that damn bus more times than I care to think about……..the spot in queens i use to love was called georgetown but they shut it down or it burned down- one of the two. too many L’s burning might have been the problem. girls still rock the poom poom skirts and shorts…i know I have…..even if you MAAAAAAAD old homie…its all good. You should go out and reminisce on the times you could move like that. LOL jk. anywys- jamaican gold on sundays at forbidden city in hollywood or da dragon fly on thursdays in hollywood. Or Gabah on friday nights. all good reggae clubs. ive done my part…enjoy.
