my favorite people in the world are teachers. and although i never became a science geek, one of my biggest influences as a kid was reading and watching carl sagan. without exaggeration i have watched the miniseries “cosmos” 20-30 times. check this site to get a little taste of what carl was all about.

this is just a flat out funny story. some chick in nyc gets assigned a new phone number. turns out the number used to belong to comedian chris rock. other celebrities don’t know the number has changed. hilarity ensues.

at my last job i was forced to attend a saturday sales training seminar conducted by some daffy old bat who would randomly break into acapella versions of showtunes. the nutty professor also felt that her trainees would focus better if they had colored pipe cleaner to play with at their desk. kara and i used our pipe cleaner to recreate the t-rex/ port-o-potty scene from jurrasic park. in retrospect i wish we had pulled off something like this…

mitch hedberg was way out there, but i dug that about his style. people with interesting or oddball perspectives on the world always fascinate me. hedberg definitely had that. like so many funny people his life seemed to end way too soon. luckily, some dedicated fan compiled tons of his material on this page. if you’re into weird comedy, you should check this out.

when people are bored they will often ask me to entertain them. as a default response i offer to juggle for them (usually followed by backflips). seems entertaining enough – and usually the image of me juggling bowling pins in their mind is enough to illicit a chuckle. but every once in a while someone will demand that i actually go ahead and juggle. well… i can’t. no… no backflips, either. i’m all talk. but thanks to how stuff works.com, this hole in my repetoire should been filled up quickly.

one of my favorite blogs is written by a chick who loves to clown the stereotypical mis-pronunciations of english words that come with an asian accent (ex: herro roundeye). yes anp is asian, so that makes the racial insensitivity not only o.k., but damned funny. but if you’re not into the p.c. thing, check out engrish.com. they describe engrish as “the humorous english mistakes that appear in japanese advertising and product design.” jokes for days…
