i try my best to hate mos – and he usually makes it easy. then i hear an amazing song from him and i have to give dude respect again. consistency, please.

ugk ft. outkast – international players anthem (i choose you)
outkast really can’t do any wrong, and you really can’t front on bun-b. the southern hip hop sound isn’t going anyplace.

prodigy – new york shit
mobb deep’s prodigy reinvents busta’s song and dusts off the dunn language with some help from alchemist and a pac sample. i like it.

sa-ra & talib kweli – feel the bass
kweli is another one who is sorta like jason vorhees…you want to kill him off but then here comes another hot song. this beat takes me back to 80′s freestyle music (which is a good thing).

bjork – earth intruders
i’m glad that bjork decided to do away with that boring matmos garbage. the fact that she chose timbaland to produce for her tells me that somewhere on bjork’s ipod you can find the song “indian flute.” that makes me chuckle.

alaskan fishermen – cold world
nobody really gave their album any love when it came out, so i like to provide some shine. plus, i’m puerto-rican, so it’s mandated by law that i dig thirstin howl’s music.

dj jazzy jeff ft. j-live – practice
yes, its THAT dj jazzy jeff. the whole mixtape is good, but when selecting a track for this list it came down to choice between j-live’s & jean grae. j-live won because of the hilarious allen iverson sample (sorry jeanie).

d.i.t.c. – day one
why? because you should be listening to big l and o.c. more. stop listening to weezy and dipset, dummy.

pharell & ?estlove – raspy shit
i promise to pretend like pharell can rhyme if someone would just stop him from saying “yezzir” every 11 seconds. oh yeah, i like this song.

raekwon ft. ghostface killah – rainy dayz
whenever i’m driving around l.a. late at night, this is my favorite song to blast (and then hit the repeat button on). i’ve clearly convinced myself that i’m a badass. this can only mean trouble.
